He was born in Wetzlar, Germany on the 12th of June 1970.
Music influenced his life already in his childhood.
After the “Neue Deutsche Welle” hype, he was very interested in black music.
His favourite songs at this time were:
Sugar Hill Gang – “Rappers Delight”,
Grandmaster Flash – “The Message”
Whodini – “Hounted House of Rock”.
He started mixing his first tapes. In the cinema they showed the first break dance movies, such as “Wild Style” and “Beat Street”. 1983 he started break dancing. 1984 he even participated at the BRAVO break dance competition.
At his school’s disco night, he had his first experience as DJ. He still remembers the tracks from that time, such as Moskwa TV – “The Bomb”, Telex – “Moscow Discow” & DAF – “Tanz den Moussolini”
Then there came more and more electronic music. Starting from Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode & Camouflage to EBM-Sound from Front 242, Nitzer Ebb & Skinny Puppy.
You could find him more often in the Clubs of Frankfurt like the legendary Music Hall, Dorian Gray or the legendary OMEN.
Then it happened. His life was from that time on ruled by House & Technobeats.
The biggest raves took place, such as Mayday, Loveparade in Berlin and the Omni in Frankfurt.
After electronic music was declared dead several times already, it became accepted slowly. He spend a lot of time with a good friend, who already mixed music as a DJ. Somehow he had never really thought of working himself as a DJ in the club. He preferred to dance to the music.
He thougt then, give it a try. Then he bought more and more vinyl and finally, 2 Technics MK II turntables and a mixer. Then he handed out just a couple of mixtapes, and finally it was time!
In 1999 he got first booking as DJ in the Kit Kat Club in Sinn, where Djane Deeva & Dj Dubwyze gave very trendy parties. More bookings were to come like in the www-club in Cologne or the U60311 and Cocoon Club in Frankfurt (see discography).
Tom Schön turned his records since 1999 not only in some local clubs such as Frankfurt the U60311 or the Cocoon Club – he already played in cities such as Berlin and Cologne. He played also in european cities Ibiza, Fuerteventura, Montenegro, Romania, Swizz, Austria and Belgium.
He has already played together with international artists such as Jay Lumen, Bart Skills, Dapayk, Sascha Braemer, Ron Flatter, Affkt, Danny Serrano, Nicole Moudaber, Carl Cox, Ricardo Villalobos, Mark Fanciulli, Onno, Oxia, Phillip Bader, Dosem, Coyu, Hollen, Ramiro Lopez, Stephan Bodzin, Dusty Kid, Wade, D-Nox, Teenage Mutants, Moonwalk, Channel X, Uto Karem, Andre Galluzzi, Tyree Cooper, Stefano Noferini, Butch, Markus Fix, SIS, Pascal F.E.O.S., Johannes Heil, Felix Kröcher, Ida Engberg, Super Flu, Gayle San, Torsten Kanzler, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Tyree Cooper and many more and charmed his audience.
He played sounds from Deephouse, Techhouse, Progressive House and Techno.
Tom Schön has in his career already released on labels such as Circle Music, BluFin, Praxxis, Soundso Rec., Sickness, Fassade Rec., Affin, Soap Rec., Delikt-Music, DSR Digital, Global Echoes, Abiesa Rec., Glovel Deep, Pure Pure Rec., Koyo Rec., nuOn Music and his own label audioVENE which starts 2016.
